Welcome to www.TheBrainCanRecover.com

Here are some notes sent to us on "Eating Alkaline".  I am sorting thru and cleaning up this presentation (offline), but hoping to make it available to as many as possible as soon as possible.

The problem in part with fibromyalgia is that it is merely a "label". If all else fails doctors hang the label on it. This means there are likely hundreds if not thousands of combinations and mis-diagnoses of this issue...........Often a fungal infection is all that it is. An anaerobic fungal infection has a low prospect of being detected by a doctor if you told you had it, meaning they can't detect and diagnose a fungal infection if they know it is there........If as a matter of routine everyone with these mystery pains would ask for internal fungal treatment then much of their problem would go away..............It is really simple, but solving their fungal issue would end the need for the doctor and medications.

Your body needs minerals and alkalinity.
Get you some figs.  Very alkaline.............If you can get away from the acid, some rather sensational health breakthroughs can occur.
A simple calcium "antacid" between meals can make a huge difference.
It allows your body to take in more minerals, and minerals "charge" your body and your body makes better use of oxygen.  Oxygen heals pretty much everything.

Balancing Your Body's pH Levels
By Liz Barrington, Natural Body Healing

Homeostatic imbalances within the body generally occur due to our diet, dehydration and/or the quality of water we drink, if we have little or no exercise, our exposure to toxicity and 'electro smog' and pollution, plus psychological stresses.  These factors often lead to imbalances of water and blood sugar levels, hormonal levels and also our bodily pH levels.

In recent years, more and more health professionals firmly believe that we must look at the importance of pH balanceas the first line of defence against sickness and disease.

Take our diet, for instance, and let's look at how changes to what we now eat have greatly impacted our body's general state of well-being.

Back in prehistoric times, we used to eat primarily an 'alkalising' vegetarian diet comprising of berries, shrubs, algae, sea vegetables, roots and leaves which are fabulous for keeping the right bodily pH levels required by our bodies to function properly.

Yet, through the domestication of our livestock, mass production and through industrialisation, our diets have dramatically changed over the last several hundred years.  During this time, we've been heavily consuming meat, grains, sugar, salt, alcohol and dairy, which are each hugely acidic when digested by the body.

As a result, because our internal organs, muscles and cells etc can only function properly when they are within a more alkaline environment, the body struggles to adjust to such extreme amounts of acidity that is continuously being consumed on a daily basis.

In more recent years, our bodies have also been bombarded with processed, ready-made foods that contain even greater amounts of sugar, salt, dairy and unhealthy fats - all of which are hugely acidic and which cause many of the health problems that we see today.

Why Does Our Body Need To Be More Alkaline Than Acidic?

Well, an imbalance of acidity/alkalinity creates a favourable condition for bacteria growth, yeast and other harmful organisms and it also weakens our immune system. All cells that make up the human body are slightly alkaline, and therefore they must maintain some alkalinity to function and remain healthy.

We rely on absorbed nutrients to build our body's tissues, fluids and other substances and to breakdown substances that are used as energy, or to form waste by-products.

These ongoing processes are generically known as the body's 'metabolism'.  Our body's metabolism heavily relies on the actions of enzymes, hormones and other biochemical reactions every second of the day and night.

However, as each alkaline cell performs its task of respiration, it continues to secrete metabolic wastes which are acidic in nature.  The by-product of this cellular activity which gives the cell energy and function, in itself creates 'acidic' waste.  Although these wastes are used for cellular energy and function, they mustn't be allowed to build up, which they can often do especially around joints and in muscles.

One example is the often painful lactic acid, created through exercise, which is often experienced in the form of 'cramps'.  The body goes to great lengths to attempt to neutralise and detoxify these acids before they become toxins within and around the cell, which would change the healthy cellular environment.

Body metabolism therefore depends on the body being in equilibrium and operating at the right pH level, so that every body function can work harmoniously.

An imbalance in the body's pH levels can affect all major body systems - especially the digestive (liver, gall bladder), intestinal (colon and small intestine), circulatory and immune systems in particular, which each depend upon pH balance to function well.

Also, many vital bodily functions, including enzyme activity and hormone balance are completely dependent upon the body maintaining healthy pH levels that should range from between 6.4 to 6.8 for saliva, and 6.0 to 7.5 for urine.

pH imbalance disturbs the oxygen affinity of haemoglobin in the blood (the blood cell's ability to collect and transport oxygen around the body). The more acidic we become, the harder it is for oxygen to be present and our biological terrain becomes more anaerobic. Without adequate oxygenation, unfriendly bacteria, viruses, moulds and fungus flourish.  This is commonly known as 'acidosis'.

Because the body can only function properly when the internal environment is alkaline in nature, a state of 'acidosis' forces the body to borrow minerals including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium from vital organs and bones to buffer the acid and safely remove it from the body.  This process can severely weaken these organs and bones over time, and further stresses the body by utilising its vital energy sources.

Once it has begun, the condition of acidosis within the body is like a 'descending spiral of stress'.  Acidity causes inflammation.  Inflammation causes pain.  Pain causes stress.  Stress causes acidity

In fact, EVERY disease in the body actually turns the body even more acidic.  Stress, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, high protein diets, excessive exercise and medication also create greater acidity levels within our bodies.

Such is the state of our diets and lifestyles, according to the latest research, the body now stores huge amounts of acidity in our fat cells, just to protect our kidneys from overworking and also to prevent kidney failure.  Body acidity levels therefore also play a major factor in putting on weight and increasing body cellulite.

As mentioned, body acidity also weakens the immune system which can lead to an overgrowth of fungal or yeast infections such as thrush and athletes foot, viruses, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/AIDs and even cancers

The modern diet results in our bodies have a low pH (acidic) level hence the importance of consuming pH-balancing nutritional supplementation, along with changing your diet accordingly.

If you do suffer with an entrenched yeast or fungal infection, it is strongly recommended that you take the following supplements: Colloidal SilverProbiotic ElevenCaprylic Acid Combination and Garlic as these powerful supplements all fight yeasts and fungus, replenish the beneficial organisms in the bowel, and so help strengthen the immune system.

How Can We Reverse This 'Descending Spiral of Stress'?

As mentioned already, a correctly pH-balanced body is essential as it enables proper metabolic function and allows the body to function optimally.

Adopting 'alkalising' dietary changes to your body's pH levels can lead to weight loss, a reduction in joint inflammation, reduced gastric problems, increased energy levels, reduced arthritic symptoms, better sleep patterns, improved youthful looking skin, faster healing of the body, stronger hairs, bones and teeth, and much more.

Simple lifestyle and dietary changes that correct pH levels can also help contribute to a balance in homeostasis and to keeping your body in harmony.  For example, drinking warm water with fresh lemon first thing in the morning, and then intermittently during the day (in addition to drinking plain filtered water throughout the day), and also taking in deep breaths during the day can really help support a more healthily balanced 'internal environment' for your body.

To help restore the correct pH balance in the body, you should aim to eat 80% alkaline-forming foods and 20% acid-forming foods every day in your diet.

I have an idea, mission, or suggestion for you.  It could be kinda cool.

I am getting rather sensational results from my recent experiment.  I am taking an antifungal and making efforts to lower my acidity making my body alkaline.  The body is suppose to be akaline but all processes of nature push the body towards acid.  All sickness of man requires an acid environment.............My theory is/was to find the common denominator of all sickness, remove it, and then it doesn{t need diagnose............Basically I am tired of being sick and wanted to get well................As it transpires when the body becomes more akaline the oxygen utilization and uptake of the body sky-rockets....Skyrockets to where it is suppose to be...........The oxygen is what heals in ALL situations.  The key to healing, hyperbarics and everything is oxygen.  By dropping the acidity using common baking soda rapid and radical healing begins.  The body starts killing off everything that is foreign (fungus, bacteria, cancer, protozoa) it is radically sensational, and it simply allows the body and blood to function as it should.  Once the body kicks out all the foreigners then it resumes working as it was designed to do............This is SO simple!

Here is what you can do (I would recommend it).  Get you a new box or two of baking soda.  Simple baking soda.  Take a teaspoon and mix it with a shot glass (small amount) of water and down it.  It tastes like crap the first time.  Do that THIS EVENING before you go to bed, then do it when you get up in the morning.  Continue this and to the best of your ability drink water and eat fruits and veggies only..........Avoid acids.

What I found was I started blowing my nose with lots of results (typically one hour after taking it), but then I would be clear and clear like I hadn{t known in a long time , but each phase gets clearer and clearer.

The clearing of the lungs and breathing alone will help energize you and drive other body functions to resume normal activity.  Each time you get more and more lung capacity and basically everything gets switched back on..........It is radically sensational and radically simple.

Going in to the weekend you can likely do it two or three times in a day.  By the end of the weekend it could be like being completely renewed.  Then for the next week once in the morning should suffice as the body continues to work on itself.

What I found was some sneaky little pains and a slight headache at first.  This is actually a sign of the bad stuff getting killed off, but it wasn{t bad..............Meanwhile, the effect of what this is may be what causes your headaches and such to start with!  The existence of these predators.  Certain diet issues and such can trigger them, and this might explain migraines.  Meanwhile, if you get rid of the culprit and keep them gone it can{t happen again..................

Try it for a week or two and see what happens.  I am getting pretty radical results.

For your body to function properly, the pH of your blood has to be held close to 7.4 and generally ranges from 7.35 to 7.45. As any pH over 7.0 is considered basic or alkaline and anything under 7.0 is considered acidic, ensuring that you maintain a slightly alkaline pH balance is important. Although the health effects of drinking alkaline beverages are debatable, doing so may help you to maintain a healthy acid-base balance.

Water

According to Janet Stein Carter, associate professor of biology of the University of Cincinnati's Clermont College, well water is slightly basic, with a pH of 7.08. Infusing water with ginger increases its pH to 7.21, while adding orange blossoms to water may help to increase its pH to 7.54. In addition to these infused beverages, some bottled waters manufacturers' standard products are alkaline, such as Evian, with a pH of 7.64, Fiji at 7.6, and Arrowhead Spring Water, which has a pH of 7.42.

advertisement

Dairy

Whole milk has a pH of 7.33. Similarly, buttermilk is recommended as a highly alkaline drink for those following the Acid Alkaline Diet. Due to the low fat content of most commercial cow's milks, however, Dr. David Murphy of Self Growth recommends goat's milk over cow's milk as a naturally alkaline beverage.

Tea

While coffee and black teas are acidic, herbal and green teas are recommended as naturally alkaline beverages. With a pH of 7.2 for brewed tea, you may be able to make teas more alkaline by using infused or well water. As honey, whole milk and goat's milk are all suggested as alkaline substances, adding these to your tea also may increase its alkalinity.

Fruit Drinks

Despite their high citric acid content, both lemons and limes are naturally basic. A number of other fruits are also basic, such as bananas, avocados, sour cherries, coconuts, watermelons and tomatoes. While commercially available juices may not retain these alkaline properties, juicing such fruits or using them in smoothies may help to increase your alkaline beverage intake. Including naturally alkaline vegetables, such as carrots, celery, cucumber, wheatgrass, broccoli and zucchini, in your juices and smoothies can help to produce a drink that is both naturally alkaline and high in a number of vitamins and minerals.

Your body maintains a pH that is roughly 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. Alkaline foods and drinks are those that cause your body to produce an alkaline ash, identifiable in your urine, and such foods support your body's processes and promote health, argues Robert O. Young, Ph.D. in his book, "The pH Miracle." Many traditional beverages, among them coffee and alcohol, are considered acid-forming; alkaline beverages include purified water and the juice of certain fruits and vegetables.

Water

As your body is 70 percent water, you should provide it with a lot of this basic component, both in the form of clean, fresh water and foods that are high in water, most notably vegetables. Dr. Young recommends at least 4 liters of water every day, preferably distilled water or purified water of the type that is filtered by reverse-osmosis. Plain tap water, due to its chlorine and fluoride content, is not considered alkalinizing.

Green Vegetables

Vegetables are among the most alkaline of all foods, few more so than leafy greens, such as lettuce and spinach, whose nutritional benefits are enhanced by juicing, according to Young. To provide yourself with a concentrated source of alkaline salts, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and enzymes, all of which contribute to the alkalinizing effect of vegetable juices, Dr. Young recommends 8 oz. of fresh vegetable juice as an ideal beginning to a meal or as an excellent snack.

Lemonade

Opinions differ as to the alkalinity of fruits. According to The Wolfe Clinic, most fruits are alkalinizing, while Dr. Young believes that most fruits are acidic, due to the high amounts of sugar they contain. However, agreement exists that fruits such as cucumbers and lemons are alkalinizing. Adding the juice of one lemon to an 8-oz. glass of water is a great way to get a healthy dose of alkalinizing potassium. Be sure to avoid adding sugar or artificial sweeteners, which are acidic. Stevia is a low-calorie, alkalinizing alternative you can use instead.

Monitoring your Body's PH levels

pH: What does it mean? pH is the abbreviation for potential hydrogen. The pH of any solution is the measure of its hydrogen-ion concentration. The higher the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is. The lower the pH reading, the more acidic and oxygen deprived the fluid is. The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic.

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/update178/ph-graph.jpg

Human blood stays in a very narrow pH range right around ( 7.35 - 7.45 ). Below or above this range means symptoms and disease. If blood pH moves to much below 6.8 or above 7.8, cells stop functioning and the patient dies. The ideal pH for blood is 7.4

A healthy blood pH without cancer has acid + alkaline balance almost equal. Actually a healthy body is slightly alkaline measuring approximately 7.4. This ideal blood 7.4 pH measurement means it is just slightly more alkaline than acid.

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/update178/DigestiveTract.jpg

The pH in the human digestive tract varies greatly (see Human Digestive Tract pH Range Chart on the left side). The pH of saliva is usually between 6.5 - 7.5. After we chew and swallow food it then enters the fundic or upper portion of the stomach which has a pH between 4.0 - 6.5. This is where "predigestion" occurs while the lower portion of the stomach is secreting hydrochloric acid (HCI) and pepsin until it reaches a pH between 1.5 - 4.0. After the food mixes with these juices it then enters the duodenum (small intestine) where the pH changes to 7.0 - 8.5. This is where 90% of the absorption of nutrients is taken in by the body while the waste products are passed out through the colon (pH 4.0 - 7.0).

If you have a health problem, most likely you are acidic. Research shows that unless the body's pH level is slightly alkaline, the body cannot heal itself. So, no matter what type of modality you choose to use to take care of your health problem, it won't be as effective until the pH level is up. If your body's pH is not balanced, you cannot effectively assimilate vitamins, minerals and food supplements. Your body pH affects everything.

Total healing of chronic illness only takes place when and if the blood is restored to a normal, slightly alkaline pH.

An Imbalance In the bodys pH may lead to serious health concerns, including:
Hormone concerns
Cardiovascular weakness
Weight gain/loss
Bladder and kidney concerns.
Immune deficiency
Acceleration of free radical damage.
Structural system weakness, including brittle bones, hip fractures and joint discomfort
Stressed liver function
Low energy
Slow digestion and elimination
Yeast/fungal overgrowth.
Tumor growth

The body has to have a balanced pH like most living things on earth or it does not function correctly. The alkaline level is very important because research has already proven that disease cannot survive in an alkaline state and yet they thrive in an acidic environment.

The truth is everyone has different nutrient requirements, but we all share one thing in common - we need to have alkaline blood to stay healthy.

An acidic balance will: decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease it's ability to repair damaged cells, decrease it's ability to detoxify heavy metals, make tumor cells thrive, and make it more susceptible to fatigue and illness.

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/update178/phchart.gif

An acidic pH can occur from, an acid forming diet, emotional stress, toxic overload, and/or immune reactions or any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients. The body will try to compensate for acidic pH by using alkaline minerals. If the diet does not contain enough minerals to compensate, a build up of acids in the cells will occur.

There are two factors that are ALWAYS present with cancer no matter what else may be present. Those two factors are Acid pH and Lack of Oxygen. Can we manipulate those two factors that always have to be present for cancer to develop and by doing so may help reverse the cancer? If so, we need to learn how to manipulate those two factors.

Cancer needs an acid and low oxygen environment to survive and flourish within. Terminal cancer patients are around 1000 times more acidic than normal healthy people. The vast majority of terminal cancer patients possess a very low body pH. Why?

In the absence of oxygen, glucose undergoes fermentation to lactic acid. This causes the pH of the cell to drop from between 7.3 to 7.2 down to 7 and later to 6.5 in more advanced stages of cancer and in metastases the pH drops to 6.0 and even 5.7 or lower. Our bodies simply can not fight disease if our body pH is not properly balanced.

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/update178/o2_molecule.gif

Shown here are four representations chemists use for molecular oxygen. In colored molecular models, oxygen is traditionally shown in red.

The normal human cell has a lot of molecular oxygen and a slightly alkaline pH. The cancer cell has an acid pH and lack of oxygen. Cancer cells cannot survive in an oxygen rich environment. At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live. Again, the higher the pH reading, the more alkaline and oxygen rich the fluid is. Cancer and all diseases hate oxygen / pH balance. The proper alkalinity pH of the blood ( 7.35 - 7.45 ) is critical for the overall health of the body. In other words... alkalize or die.

Baking Soda and pH Levels

Remember that the pH number is an exponent number of 10; therefore, a small difference in pH translates to a big difference in the number of oxygen or OH-ions. A difference of 1 in a pH value means ten times the difference in the number of OH-ions, a difference of 2 means one hundred times the difference in the number of OH-ions. In other words, blood with a pH value of 7.45 contains 64.9% more oxygen than blood with a pH value of 7.30.

Here's a picture of healthy red
blood cells:

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/bobbeck/bloodcells2.jpg

Blood cells have a negative charge on the outside and a positive charge inside; this is what keeps them healthy and far apart from each other. However, when your body is over-acidic, the acid strips your blood of it's negative charge. Your blood cells no longer have the same repelling force and clump together like this:

Fact: If your body's pH is not balanced, you cannot effectively assimilate vitamins, minerals and food supplements. Also, mucus on the small intestine can block your body from vitamin and mineral absorption.

Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/newsletter464/orpScale.jpg

When your tap water arrives at your home, it will usually be a little over neutral in pH ~ around 7.5.

It will, however, be robbed of its electrical negative charge and will almost always have a 'positive' ORP .
This means it has no antioxidant abilities and cannot assist your body in the fight against oxygen free radicals. On the contrary, it actually robs you of energy as you drink it.

The measurement of this positive or negative charge is expressed in millivolts, so an ORP reading on our ORP meter of tap water will most likely depending on your area show around +350 millivolts. After it has been through Ionizing Water filters it will most likely show anything from -150 to -650mv (depending on the amount of soluble minerals in the water and on the original pH of the water).

ORP is a "potential" energy that is stored and ready to be put to work. An analogous way to look at ORP would be to consider pressure. When you blow up a balloon you use energy that creates force. As long as the balloon remains closed, this force is a stored potential energy in this case measured as air pressure. When released, this potential energy becomes kinetic energy.More

How To Test Your pH Level...

Salivary pH Test: While generally more acidic than blood, salivary pH mirrors the blood ( if not around meals ) and is also a fairly good indicator of health. It tells us what the body retains. Salivary pH is a fair indicator of the health of the extracellular fluids and their alkaline mineral reserves.

Optimal pH for saliva is 6.4 to 6.8. Spit onto to your Portable PH Meter on arising before anything is put into the mouth. A reading lower than 6.4 is indicative of insufficient alkaline reserves. After eating, the saliva pH should rise to 7.8 or higher. Unless this occurs, the body has alkaline mineral deficiencies ( mainly Calcium and Magnesium ) and will not assimilate food very well. To deviate from ideal salivary pH for an extended time invites illness.

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/update178/phdiagram.gif

Acidosis, an extended time in the acid pH state, can result in rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lupus, tuberculosis, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, most cancers and many more. If salivary pH stays too low, the diet should focus on fruit, vegetables and mineral water as well as remove strong acidifiers such as sodas, whole wheat and red meat.

Urinary pH Test: The pH of the urine indicates how the body is working to maintain the proper pH of the blood. The urine reveals the alkaline building (anabolic) and acid tearing down (catabolic) cycles. The pH of urine indicates the efforts of the body via the kidneys, adrenals, lungs and gonads to regulate pH through the buffer salts and hormones. Urine can provide a fairly accurate picture of body chemistry, because the kidneys filter out the buffer salts of pH regulation and provide values based on what the body is eliminating. Urine pH can vary from around 4.5 to 9.0 for its extremes, but the ideal range is 5.8 to 6.8.

Are you Dehydrated

Description: http://altered-states.net/barry/newsletter464/hydration.png

Individuals' daily water requirements can vary due to many factors - including amount of exercise performed, total body weight, total lean muscle weight, and the temperature and climate of your locale. Many people wait until they are thirsty before reaching for a bottle of water. However, thirst is a very unreliable measure of the water needs for our bodies. The body can lose up to 2 or more cups of water before thirst strikes. Not getting enough water may result in a faster heart rate, thicker-than-normal blood, lowered endurance capacities, and muscle cramps. Drinking water in regular intervals throughout the day is an important habit to develop. More

Foods considered to be alkaline-forming and thus helpful to people with consistently acid pH include: almonds, aloe vera, apples, apricots, bee pollen, buckwheat, cabbage, cantaloupe, celery, carrots, cucumbers, dairy products except hard cheese, dates, dulse, poached eggs, figs, grapefruit, honey, lettuce, millet, parsley, raisins, peaches, fresh red potatoes, pineapple, soy products, sprouted seeds, cooked spinach, turnip tops, wakame miso soup, azuki beans, rice, mineral water. More alkaline-forming foods...Click Here

People who remain too acid often display symptoms such as: anxiety, diarrhea, dilated pupils, extroverted behavior, fatigue in early morning, headaches, hyperactivity, hypersexuality, insomnia, nervousness, rapid heartbeat, restless legs, shortness of breath, strong appetite, high blood pressure, warm dry hands and feet.

Balancing the pH is a major step toward well-being and greater health. Acidosis ( overly acidic body ) is the primary indicator of Calcium Deficiency Disease. Scientists have discovered that the body fluids of healthy people are alkaline ( high pH ) whereas the body fluids of sick people are acidic ( low pH ).

Balanced body chemistry is of utmost importance for the maintenance of health and correction of disease. Acidosis, or over-acidity in the body tissues, is one of the basic causes of many diseases, especially the arthritic and rheumatic diseases.

All foods are "burned" in the body--more commonly called "digested"-- leaving an ash as the result of the "burning", or the digestion. This food ash can be neutral, acid or alkaline, depending largely on the mineral composition of the foods. Some foods leave an acid residue or ash, some alkaline. The acid ash (acidosis) results when there is a depletion of the alkali reserve or the diminution in the reserve supply of fixed bases in the blood and the tissues of the body.

It is, therefore, vitally important that there is a proper ratio between acid and alkaline foods in the diet. The natural ratio in a normal healthy body is approximately 4 to 1 -- four parts alkaline to one part acid, or 80% to 20%. When such an ideal ratio is maintained, the body has a strong resistance against disease. In the healing of disease, when the patient usually has acidosis, the higher the ratio of alkaline elements in the diet, the faster will be the recovery. Alkalis neutralize the acids. Therefore in the treatment of most diseases it is important that the patient's diet includes plenty of alkaline-ash foods to offset the effects of acid-forming foods and leave a safe margin of alkalinity.

A healthy body usually keeps large alkaline reserves which are used to meet the emergency demands if too many acid-producing foods are consumed. But these normal reserves can be depleted. When the alkaline-acid ratio drops to 3 to 1, health can be seriously menaced. Your body can function normally and sustain health only in the presence of adequate alkaline reserves and the proper acid-alkaline ratio in all the body tissues and the blood.

For optimum health and maximum resistance to disease, it is imperative that your diet is slightly over-alkaline. The ideal ratio, according to the world's foremost authority on the relationship between the acid-alkaline ratio in the diet in health and disease, Dr. Ragnar Berg, is about 80% alkali-producing foods and 20% acid-producing foods.

Below are tables of common foods with an approximate potential acidity or alkalinity, as present in one ounce of food.

Most grains are acid-forming, except millet and buckwheat, which are considered to be alkaline. Sprouted seeds and grains become more alkaline in the process of sprouting.

All vegetable and fruit juices are highly alkaline. The most alkali-forming juices are: fig juice, green juices of all green vegetables and tops, carrots, beet, celery, pineapple and citrus juices. Vegetable broth is an extremely alkalizing drink.

"How Does An Alkaline Diet Work
to Cleanse Candida?"

A critical factor in cleansing Candida is eating an "Alkaline Diet" to cleanse your body of Candida. Eating foods that help you maintain a healthy alkaline balance in your body is, by far, one of the mostpowerful methods to cleanse Candida and yeast infection.

Doctors will tell you an unhealthy or diseased body is highly acidic.

Therefore, you need a diet that both lowers the acidity and raises the alkalinity of your body so you can weaken and destroy Candida.

Eating foods that have higher acid pH levels gives Candida the perfect environment to grow. That's because Candida thrives in an acidic environment.

The Acid-Alkaline balance of your body is measured by its pH level. The pH level is a scale that goes from zero to fourteen. Fourteen is the most alkaline, seven is neutral and zero is the most acid. Your body functions best with a slightly alkaline pH range of 7.35 and 7.45.

You can eat foods that alter the acid-alkaline balance in your body to the correct pH balance with an Alkaline Diet.

What exactly is an "Alkaline Diet"?

An alkaline diet is based on specific foods that raise the alkalinity of your body and help you regain the proper alkaline balance. When you eat more alkaline foods, the alkalinity of your body goes up.

At the same time, to control and defeat Candida, you must lower your intake of foods that form acids. Examples of acid-forming foods include beef, refined sugar, certain dairy, white flour and grain products.

What is on the Alkaline Diet Foods List?

Examples of alkaline foods include fresh vegetables, almonds, green juices, and foods high in calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Here are some recipes you can add to your diet that will help raise the alkalinity of your body:

Lemon Honey Shot

Lemon juice has been shown to kill Candida directly. At the same time, lemon raises the alkalinity of your body. Garlic adds potency and has been shown to eliminate Candida. And this recipe is potent!

         1 tablespoon lemon juice

         1 tablespoon raw honey

         1/4 cup water

         Garlic (optional)

Mix lemon juice, honey and water in small cup. Take 1 to 3 shots daily after a each meal. For extra potency, add a clove of fresh crushed garlic.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey Tea

Apple cider vinegar is proven to kill Candida as well as effectively raise the alkalinity of your body. It also aids in digestion.

         1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

         1 tablespoon raw honey

         1 cup warm water

Mix vinegar, honey and hot water in small cup. Drink 2-3 cups daily.

Simple Flax Seed Salad

Raw fresh vegetables, raisins and flax seeds are proven to raise the alkalinity of your body. Remember, Candida cannot survive in an alkaline environment.

         Red Leaf Lettuce

         Fresh uncooked Spinach

         Cherry Tomatoes

         Raisins

         Green onions, sliced

         1 tablespoon Flax seed oil

         1 tablespoon Flax seeds

         Dash of sea salt

Rinse lettuce and spinach then tear by hand into large bowl. Toss in the tomatoes, raisins and green onions. Drizzle with flax oil and sprinkle with flax seeds. Season to taste with sea salt. Eat 3-5 times a week with your meals. Delicious!

Let me just quickly recap...

Cleanse Candida more effectively and strengthen your body's ability to heal by adding Candida-fighting ingredients into your recipes and more alkaline foods to your diet.

Acidity Alkalinity

Posted on Jan 13, 2009 under Heathy Living | 5 Comments

What are Acidity and Alkalinity how do they affect human health?

This subject is of vital importance!

Scientists report that over 150 degenerative diseases are caused by high acid levels in the body. Knowing this fact, we should begin by understanding what acidity and alkalinity are and how they relate to our health.

The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 0 being extremely acidic, 14 being extremely alkaline and 7 being neutral. Body fluids range between 4.5 and 7.5 pH (blood must maintain 7.35 to 7.45 pH). A one point drop on the pH scale is 10 times more acidic; for example from 7 to 6 is 10 times more acidic, from 7 to 5 is 100 times, from 7 to 2 is 1,000,000 times more acidic. Most plants and fish thrive in waters of pH values from 6.6 to 7.4. This is a good rule of thumb to use for humans as parasites, viruses, bad bacteria, and degenerative diseases are more prevalent in an acidic system. In order for the body to remain healthy, it keeps a delicate and precise balance of blood pH at 7.365, which is slightly alkaline. The body does whatever it has to in order to maintain this balance. The problem is that most people have incredibly acid-forming lifestyles. Acid is produced in your body whenever you have stress, upset emotions and when the food you eat is acid-forming.

The human body is composed of 78% water. The cells in the body are 98% water. Even our bones are 20% water. We can live for thirty days without food but only 3 days without water. If all the water is removed from a 150 pound person, the residue left would weigh less than 35 pounds. We know that the body fluids of healthy people are slightly alkaline while the same fluids of those who are sick are acidic, either very acidic or slightly. Generally speaking, the more acid your body is, the more serious the illness you have. The degree of acidity significantly affects the bodys ability to prevent and/or reverse illness and disease (including such degenerative diseases as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and others). Individuals that have severe health challenges almost invariably also have high acidity. Unfortunately, acidity has become a national epidemic that is one of the most ignored or unknown underlying causes of many of the degenerative diseases of the western world.

High systemic acid levels contribute or cause directly, numerous health problems;

  • Acid systems cant use calcium effectively.
  • They cant maintain proper blood oxygen levels and cancer can only develop in an oxygen poor, acidic environment.
  • Acidic blood cant circulate properly creating extra strain on the heart.
  • It adversely affects the digestive system and the lymphatic system.

How is this condition created?

Our acid problems are due to a combination of two chronic habits:

  • What we eat and drink
  • What we are not taking in [nutrients, vitamins, minerals, water, etc.]

Whatever comes into contact with our skin, lungs and digestive system is absorbed into the body very quickly. To achieve and maintain a healthy alkaline body, we must eat foods and drinks that produce an alkaline body.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) consists of fast food, high protein, fat, sugar and carbohydrates, which contribute to an overly acidic body. In addition, Americans eat next to no vegetables and the vegetables that are eaten are often cooked thereby creating another acidifying food whereas raw, unprocessed vegetables are alkalizing to the body. In general, it is important to eat a diet that contains both acidic and alkalizing foods. People vary, but for most, the ideal diet is 75 percent alkalizing and 25 percent acidifying.

Dr. Bruce Ames, noted biochemist at the University of California at Berkeley at a 1998 conference of the Society of Toxicology, told the audience of researchers that nutrient deficiency may explain why the 25% of the population that eats the least fruit and vegetables has double the cancer rate in comparison to the 25% of the population that eats the most fruits and vegetables.

Lack of Vitamins may cause Cancer Reuters, October, 28, 1998

It is probable that the population that eats higher amounts of vegetables and fruits is also more alkaline than the rest of us. It only makes sense. It isnt just the nutrient content of the food; it is the acid vs. alkaline ratios that are positively affected as well.

The National Health and Nutrition Survey reported that;

  • Less than 10% of Americans consumed five daily servings of fruit and vegetables
  • 40% ate no fruit or fruit juice
  • 50% ate no vegetables
  • 70% have no dietary vitamin C
  • 80% didnt eat anything that had carotenoids
  • The number one vegetable in the United States is French Fries and that comprises 25% of all vegetables eaten.
  • Number two is Iceberg Lettuce and a close third is Ketchup.

If we cant even eat the minimal amount of alkalizing foods it is no wonder we have such nationwide issues with degenerative diseases caused by acidity.

Dehydration is rampant often because the average American thinks that drinking soda or coffee is the same as drinking water. As well as acting as a diuretic, soda has an acidic range around 2.5 pH. It takes an incredible amount of good water to counteract the effects of soda. You may have to drink nearly 32 glasses of 7.0 pH water to eliminate the bad effects of 1 glass of soda. In addition to soda, coffee, caffeine, and smoking all contribute to raising the acid levels in ones body, thereby contributing to serious health problems. It is important to understand that raising the bodys pH does not cure disease. It does however, allow the body to heal itself by normalizing cellular function and ridding itself of toxins. Also fruits and vegetables will be adding the minerals that are so important to maintaining good health.

Alkalizing Supplements

We can reduce the acidifying effects of our diet in the short term with Coral Calcium and Greens Blend, but most importantly we need to choose a diet which is balanced on the side of alkaline-forming foods. All natural, raw, vegetable and fruit juices are alkaline-producing. Fruit juices become more acid-producing when processed and especially when sweetened. A foods acid or alkaline-forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example, lemons are very acidic; however the end products they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so in fact lemons are alkaline-forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid-forming.

A severe acid condition forces the body to borrow minerals including calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium from organs and bones to buffer (neutralize) the acid to safely remove it from the body. This is a primary cause of osteoporosis. Acidic conditions can also cause such problems as:
Cardiovascular damage Weight gain, obesity and diabetes
Bladder conditions Kidney stones
Increased propensity for depression Acceleration of free radical damage
Hormonal problems Premature aging
Aching muscles and lactic acid buildup Osteoporosis and joint pain including arthritis
Low energy and chronic fatigue Slow digestion and elimination
Yeast/fungal overgrowth Lack of energy and fatigue
Lower body temperature Escalation of tendency for infection
Immune deficiency Loss of drive, joy, and enthusiasm
Easily stressed Pale complexion
Headaches Gastritis
Loose and painful teeth Inflamed, sensitive gums
Mouth and stomach ulcers Cracks at the corners of the lips
Inflammation of the corneas and eyelids Impaired digestion and excess stomach acid
Nails are thin and split easily Hair looks dull, has split ends, and falls out
Dry skin Skin easily irritated
Low blood oxygen levels Leg cramps and spasms

Coral Calcium is called the great alkalizer. Dr Linus Pauling recommended taking L-Lysine with your Vitamin C. Also consider these other great alkaline-producing products we have ready to ship: Alfalfa, Bladderwrack, Broccoli, Kelp, Spinach, Spirulina and the new Greens Blend.

L- Lysine, Vitamin C and heart disease prevention.

effect on the body, the citric acid they contain actually has an
alkalinizing effect in the system.

Note that a food's acid or alkaline forming tendency in the body has
nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example,
lemons are very acidic, however the end products they produce after
digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so, lemons are alkaline
forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before
digestion, but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like
nearly all animal products, meat is very acid forming.
